About Erin Welsh, LCPC
Licensed therapist helping Maryland families for over 10 years

A Therapist Who Truly Understands
I have spent years helping children, teens, adults, and families overcome challenges and reach their goals. My work focuses on kids with learning differences, families struggling with conception or parenting, and anyone facing anxiety, depression, or life changes.
I previously worked at Jemicy School in Baltimore, Maryland, where I created and developed their counseling program for children with learning differences. I now run my private practice full-time to help families beyond the school day. My goal is simple: give you the tools to succeed and feel confident in your daily life.
I believe in a team approach. We'll work together to identify your strengths, set meaningful goals, and build skills that last a lifetime.
My Background
I earned my master's degree in Professional Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, specializing in school counseling. I then went on to earn my Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) certifications.
I'm a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and continue my education regularly to provide the best care for my clients.
Beyond Therapy
I love skiing, yoga, and spending time with my family. I'm married and have two young sons who keep me busy and teach me something new every day.
I'm a strong believer in therapy for everyone—including myself! I see my own counselor and know firsthand how helpful it can be to have support during life's ups and downs.
My Approach to Therapy
Treatment as Unique as You Are
No two people are the same, so I use different methods based on what you need. I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based counseling, and solution-focused approaches.
For younger kids, I use hands-on, creative techniques like play therapy and sensory activities. For teens and adults, we focus on building coping skills and changing negative thought patterns.
Family-Centered Care
When working with children, I include parents and siblings as part of the process. Everyone plays a role in helping the child succeed. We work as a team to create lasting change.
Focus on Strengths
I believe you already have many strengths—we just need to discover and build on them. My goal is to help you see yourself in a positive light and develop confidence.
Practical Skills
Therapy should give you real tools you can use every day. I teach techniques to manage anxiety, improve communication, and handle stress in healthy ways.
Lifelong Learning
I'm passionate about continuing education and learning from every client I work with. This keeps my skills sharp and helps me provide the best, most current care.
